_{The romance that pulses through my
veins craves unison. Forcing my body
to whirl in directions unknown, compelling
me to run wild across the soft earth.

As the sun pulls the Earth towards it,
I am pulled towards your body, your
spirit, your heart.

I long to belong in your arms, let me belong
in your arms – please. Under the starlight,
I wish to be at peace with you, complete
harmony, universal intimacy.

Could I? Should I? Build a bridge to you,
communicate my appreciation, initiate
first contact with a form alien to mine.

Your love denied – an unexplored
continent, no explorer left to
circumnavigate the futures that could
have occurred between you and me.

You were just a collection of neurons
firing while my eyes were closed, our
history was a fabrication of my mind,

with no substance to ensure our
continuity – the synapses slowly wither
at the sound of your name, trying to
counteract the pain I created.

I tried to shift the plates beneath my
chest, to align my heart with yours,
but I couldn't mimic your orbital path.

We are just electrons, connecting for a
moment and being forced apart in the
brightest light to illuminate the world,
we are left, hollow, to seek answers.}

_{It's been ages since I've updated anything on DA. I have been writing sporadically, but I've been finding it hard to gather my thoughts and find any kind of inspiration.

I wrote this the other night, I used found inspiration in nature, and the human body (in a way). It's only rough and doesn't flow as well as I should like, but I believe the theme is solid and the idea is there. Hopefully I will be able to expand on this idea, and fully form it – find proper inspiration and use it to its fullest.

I chose the title, Propinquity, because it deals with ideas of closeness, both physically and emotionally, which is the very basis of the poem. I hope to expand on this idea and tying it in with ecological and biological interactions (it will be a big project).
